Smell the Roses!

When we met Chris in our Studio one of the first things she said was how much she loves Roses. The scent, the colours, the romance, the Rose has it all, especially when they're British Grown. So we created designs with different varieties of Roses mixed in with seasonally gorgeous herbs, foliages and other beautiful blooms.  We had the absolute pleasure of taking all these flowers over to Longfurlong Barn and setting up with a list of other great suppliers.

Here are the results

The Bride wants Wow!

Lisa came to our studio with so much enthusiasm and excitement for their wedding, it was infectious. Once we had chatted about designs it was pretty clear that we had someone creative with us. Low and behold a few weeks ago, lisa arrived back at the Studio with a box full of beautifully painted jars and as we ran through the Order for the last time, Lisa uttered the words every florist longs to hear- I want Wow for the tall table centres, I don't mind what you do, just make them tall and impressive! So we had a lot of fun in the workshop this week, being creative and enjoying putting together something rustic, yet Wow with bark, moss, Willow and pinks, purple and whites with herbs and foliages all tangled together. And this is the result.

The ceremony  barn at the very beautiful Farbridge Barns. Jam jar chair ends, beam decorations, garlanding above the curtain backdrop and Jam jars on the Registrars Table. The scent from the Rosemary; Flowering Mint and Sweet Peas was beautiful.

We created a moss runner the entire length of the Top Table and 'planted' a mixture of flowers and herbs to create a wild garden.

On the low level tables we filled the painted jam jars and set them on beautiful oiled log slices.

lisa felt the Barn needed some drama (and Wow!) so we created tops of Willow, delphiniums and Hydrangea to sit on top of tall clear vases. We dressed the vases with a collar of Bark at the top to keep the Rustic feeling within these designs too.

Blue and Silver blooms!

Blue is always a tricky colour for a florist but I think we created some beautiful designs using Blue Thistle, Nigella and delphinium.

Shelley and Dave got married on Saturday at Barnham Church with a Reception at the Village Hall afterwards.

IMG_8814.JPG

shelleys Bouquet was a tear drop shape using Delphinium stems to soften the drop. we bound the stems using an offcut of the Bridesmaids Dresses, a beautiful steel grey.

Her Maid of Honour and Bridesmaids had round posies to tie in with Shelleys Bouquet.

IMG_8815.JPG

We used beautiful scented Roses throughout the designs to give them a really English Garden feel.

Silvery foliage from our own Cutting Garden complimented the Bridesmaids dresses.

We placed 2 white jugs filled with the same flowers in the church for Shelley and Daves ceremony.

Wow! What a show!!

When we met Becca and Martin in our Studio, we knew this wedding would be fun as soon as they mentioned 'props' for the tables. Starring in lots of theatre productions they were warm and creative and clearly very  excited about getting married. We had the honour of providing bouquets and decorating Brookfield Barn, Horsham, where their reception was being held.

Becca asked for a modern teardrop bouquet with pinks and creams. I made a pear shaped wired bouquet and added the drop shape with wired Larkspur, Freesia and Thlasspi foliage.

The bridesmaids has simple Hydrangea bouquets with a collar of foliage and small pink roses.

Every table was themed around a show they had been part of and we worked this into the table centres. Large cream lanterns (hired from To Have and to Hire Weddings) were filled with Amnesia Roses, Freesia, small pale pink roses and Hydrangea. To create all round interest we created 'gardens' of moss and larkspur to sit at the back of the lanterns.

In amongst strings and strings of fairy lights and a gorgeous jam jar chandelier (hired by To Have and To Hire) there were foliage pomanders with lots of different colours and textures of greens.

Elegant White Wedding

Friday 7th July we had the absolute pleasure of providing Wedding Flowers for Jerry & Scott at Upwaltham Barns in West Sussex.

No foliage, unless it's silver! All white Romantic Flowers! That was our task. Full delicate white Hydrangea, lacy sweet smelling Peonys and the ever popular Gypsophila, are what we chose together.

IMG_8622.JPG

Jerrys bouquet was bound with silver ribbon and lace. The Peonies and Hydrangea behaved really well in the 30 degree heat!! perfect for such a beautiful bride. Four gorgeous Bridesmaids carried smaller versions all bound with Lace.

IMG_8619.JPG

simple Gypsophila Buttonholes bound with Silver Ribbons and a single peony Buttonhole for the handsome Groom. Some of our own grown Silver foliage worked in too.

IMG_8644.JPG

A beautiful Willow Heart adorned with Roses, Peonies and Gypsophila marked the entrance to Upwaltham Barns. What a statement!! I worked tiny fairy lights around the entire heart so that there would be even more of a romantic feel in the evening.

As a surprise, the Groom arranged for us to create a garland to dress the Bridal Cottage balcony, where she would stand for photographs with her Dad before going downstairs to the Barn to marry her love. Adorable.

IMG_8642.JPG

We created a soft garland of Gypsophila with white peony, Hydrangea and Roses at the corners and central point. This led you into the very pretty Ceremony Barn where we dressed the chairs with Gyp Clouds with silver ribbon trails, scattered Rose petals around gorgeous Floor standing Lanterns (from To Have and To Hire) and up to the Registrars Table with a garland of Gypsophila and Hydrangea. So romantic!

For the tables we hired Jerry & Scott our enamel white jugs and our chunky Log Slices. We filled these with Hydrangea, Peonies and Gypsophila. Like little white clouds of Romance. The Top table was edges with a garland of Gypsophila and Hydrangea.

So wedding season begins!!

Wild and Green have had a slow start to the wedding season this year, our attentions were elsewhere- the spectacular Sussex Wed Fest to be exact. Along with Sara from To Have & To Hire, we were busy planning and working at the very first fantastic Wedding Festival. If you missed it or would like to join us at the next Wed Fest have a look at the Facebook Page for information. @sussexwedfest.

Back to Wild and Green.....so this week we begin a run of 26 weddings without a break. Sounds daunting to most but the team is ready and raring to go. Our Workshop is sparkly and the buckets are bleached! All we need now are some flowers, herbs and foliage to arrive. And it will, tomorrow, in the form of 70 x beautiful white Peonies on their way to us for the morning, arriving early to make sure they are fully open for the wedding ..... once all the other flowers arrive during the week we can begin creating some gorgeous romantic designs. All destined for Upwaltham Barns.

Watch this space for images of this beautifully elegant all white wedding.
